Boardyear Arabesque

As an avid dancer, it was no surprise that I would eventually become a board member of one of the dance associations I was part of. I served as secretary for a year at Arabesque. Together with my friends who joined the board with me, we ran the association for a full year.

In my role as secretary, I was responsible for internal and external communication, maintaining contact with members, other student associations, and university bodies. I also handled various administrative and legal matters, such as keeping official records, managing meeting minutes, overseeing documentation, and ensuring that the association complied with university and national regulations for student organizations.

During our board year, we organized three dance shows, including a collaboration with the student orchestra. We also hosted multiple workshops, including sessions taught by teachers from abroad. The committees and the association came back to life again, as it had faced challenges with student engagement after Covid. We introduced our new mascot, Duck the Goose, and successfully found a new dance teacher for the following year.
